Our Rigorous Methodology
Every investigation at The Evidence Dispatch follows a strict, evidence-based methodology designed to minimize bias and maximize accuracy. We examine claims systematically, trace their origins, verify source materials, and evaluate the strength of available evidence.
Our classification framework provides clarity about the nature and reliability of claims. Each category reflects our assessment based on comprehensive research and adherence to journalistic standards of verification.
Claim Classifications
Verified Accurate
Verified Accurate
(claim_true)
The claim is substantiated by available evidence and does not omit material information. This classification reflects our confidence that the claim accurately represents reality based on rigorous verification.
Contextually Misleading
Contextually Misleading
(claim_misleading)
The claim incorporates genuine elements but frames them in a manner that invites an erroneous conclusion—whether through selective context, false juxtaposition, or omission of critical facts.
Demonstrably False
Demonstrably False
(claim_false)
The claim is unsupported by or directly contradicted by available evidence. We apply this classification when evidence overwhelmingly demonstrates the claim to be inaccurate.
Visual Media Classifications
Authentic Media
Authentic Media
(media_authentic)
The visual material is genuine, unaltered, and presented with appropriate context. This classification applies when images or videos are verified as authentic and the accompanying narrative accurately represents them.
Digitally Altered
Digitally Altered
(media_doctored)
The visual material is an existing image or video that has been edited to add, remove, or modify elements. We identify and document the alterations to expose deceptive manipulation.
Misattributed Media
Misattributed Media
(media_misattributed)
The visual material is genuine but presented as depicting a different time, location, or event. This common tactic repurposes legitimate images to support false narratives.
Deceptive Framing
Deceptive Framing
(media_misleading)
The visual material is genuine but accompanied by misleading context or explanation. The media itself is authentic, but the narrative surrounding it distorts its meaning.
AI-Fabricated
AI-Fabricated
(media_aigenerated)
The visual material was entirely generated using artificial intelligence. As AI-generated content becomes more sophisticated, identifying and flagging these fabrications is critical to combating disinformation.
Correction Policy
The Evidence Dispatch holds itself to the same standard of accountability that it applies to the claims it examines. When an error is identified in a published investigation — whether discovered internally or flagged by a reader — we correct it promptly and with full transparency. Corrections are noted directly within the affected piece, specifying what was changed, what the original text stated, and the date the correction was made. We differentiate between factual corrections and updates that reflect new developments; each is labeled so that readers can assess the nature and scope of the change.
We actively review reader feedback and take seriously any challenge to a published verdict backed by substantive evidence or argument. Where new information demonstrates that a rating requires revision, we update the investigation accordingly and document the change in full — preserving the original conclusion alongside the revised one so the record remains intact. No correction is made silently; every revision is disclosed within the text of the original piece.
