How we are supported, how we operate, and where our resources go
What is The Evidence Dispatch?
The Evidence Dispatch is a nonpartisan fact-checking organization whose purpose is to verify claims circulating in public and political discourse. We investigate statements, media, and narratives against available evidence and publish our findings with full source documentation.
What are The Evidence Dispatch's primary sources of revenue?
The Evidence Dispatch is funded almost entirely through programmatic digital advertising and modest reader contributions. We also generate revenue by licensing and distributing our fact-checking content to media organizations and other publishers.
Do advertisers or commercial vendors have any influence over what The Evidence Dispatch publishes?
None whatsoever. Advertisers and commercial vendors have no access to or contact with our editorial team. They do not participate in, suggest, or otherwise influence any decisions about what we investigate or publish.
Does The Evidence Dispatch accept political advertising or funding from political parties or campaigns?
No. We do not run political advertising. We do not accept financial support from political parties, electoral campaigns, or organizations that advocate for particular political positions or candidates.
What contribution limits apply to individual and organizational donors?
The Evidence Dispatch accepts contributions of up to $500 per donor from individual readers and from nonpartisan organizations. These contributions help sustain our editorial mission and carry no conditions related to coverage.
How are The Evidence Dispatch's funds primarily allocated?
The largest share of our budget is directed to staff compensation and the technical systems that support our journalism. The remaining funds cover legal needs, operational services, and general organizational costs.
